Michael MacLean is an interdisciplinary designer and artist living in Halifax, NS. He was born in Quebec but has spent most of his time living between Montreal and the Yukon. He strives to make work that is place-based, site-specific, and community-driven. Michael’s background includes various mediums and approaches, including printmaking, architectural design-build, site-specific installation and research on working with communities and participatory methods. In his work, he blurs the lines between art, design and community work. He seeks to find and improve ways of working with communities through the art and design process.
